Building a House

July--present... been busy...

So last night I went to my friend Julie's annual Gingerbread House Party. It was a lot of fun! Bunch of girls getting together for some good eats, wine slushies (I had grape juice), and decorating gingerbread houses.

Thought you might like to see some pics of the finish results...

S'more, S'mores Please

If you know me very well, you know camping is one of my most favorite things to do! We had great weather at Wellesley this year and lots of camping friends! Swimming in the St. Lawrence River was pretty chilly as usual, but it really cooled ya off... I think refreshing is the word I'm looking for. No, no, no the word is FREEZING!

We played lots of games including, Swap, ten thousand, Spit, Racko, Ladder Golf, and Kan Jam. Kan Jam is a frisbee game, and it totally rocks. Matt and I took a ride with some of my Aunts and Uncles over the border to Cananda to the casino. We didn't win anything, but we had fun.

I'm sad our Wellesley Island camping trip is over, this year and can't wait till next.

Busy, Busy, Busy!

So busy, So busy!!!! It's been a busy couple of weeks here, starting off with my sister-in-law Lindsey coming to visit, then Dad's surgery (he's doing GREAT!), a wedding in Pittsburgh, and then camping at Wellesley Island. It was really nice having Lindsey here to stay with us. She's 14 now, and surprisingly still doesn't mind hanging out with us fuddyduds... All three of us traveled to Pittsburgh to stay with Matt's Aunt Sue and Uncle Fred. Matt's mom flew in to Pittsburgh to meet us there too. I finally got to meet Matt's cousin Mark and his wife tarrah, and three kids, Meggin, Lauren, and Harrison. Pittsburgh is a great city and it is always so fun visiting with Aunt Sue and Uncle Fred.

A brush with stardum

Today I met a real movie star. My friend Michele's good friend from grade school, Chloe Webb came to visit her at school today. Chloe has been in a variety of films and tv shows. Some well known roles of Chloe Webb's are Danny Davito's girlfriend in Twins, Nancy of Sid and Nancy, and Carla in Practical Magic. You may have also seen her on, CSI, Medium, Two and a Half Men, House, and China Beach. It was pretty neat talking with her.

YeeHaw!

The words you are about to read are not completely min
e.... but are true... lol (I told you I was gonna copy and paste Britt)

Tonight I had the opportunity to go out to dinner with two of my favorite people, BAD and Brittany. The three of us met up for dinner at Texas Roadhouse and shared a lot of laughs. Here is a little picture of the tremendous trio! Can you believe they let us mold young minds?

Afterward we went out to Barb's car and caught my evil little dog Lucy red-handed with chapstick and cherry cough drops. I think she thought she was coming down with something... Lucy definitely came out victorious in her battle with the chapstick. All I know is that I don't think Barb is going to want to use that chapstick anymore!

Finally, a picture of Barb's dog Clementine. Seriously the smartest dog I've ever met. I'm pretty sure Clem was probably having an anxiety attack while she was watching Lucy chew up Barb's chapstick.

I am sad to say Brittany is moving at the end of June to DC. We are really gonna miss her here! Hopefully she will come up to visit her Syracuse friends!!! It was a fun night girls!!!

BATMAN

Well, we had another BAT in our house. It is the second bat in two years, and if you know us very well, you know about the adventure of the first bat. Now I don't know of anyone who would be happy about a bat getting in their house, but Matt REALLY is disgusted about it. We were sitting in the living room (playing wii) when Matt heard a noise in the fire place. We stopped playing and I went over and took a look, when I saw a bat hanging upsidedown staring back at me. Luckily we had the glass door shut. I yelled "BAT!". and ran across the room. Matt ran out of the house (left me with the bat) and got our neighbor, Jerry. Matt always goes and get Jerry when we have a bat, I'm not sure why, but he always comes over and helps us out. Lucky him! (side note: Even though Jerry always comes over to help, Jerry has never seen an actual bat in the house... I'm pretty sure he thinks we are crazy.) At the same moment when Matt walks back into the house and says Jerry is on his way, the bat escapes from the fireplace and starts flying around the house. Matt and I run out of the house and leave the bat inside. I think that means the bat wins.... Just as Jerry came over to help, the bat flies out the front door... and once again Jerry didn't get to see our bat.

SO LUCKY!

Well I'm really new at this "Blogging" thing, and I am far from being a good writer, AND my life is really not that exciting, so I'm gonna do my best with this, and pick a topic and go with it. So my first topic is one of my favorite things in the whole world..... Matt! Isn't he cute! Matt and I met while he was getting his Masters in Exercise medicine at Syracuse University. We met and hit it off right away, and with in 9 months we were engaged. It was definitely one of those fairy tale stories where you meet someone and know you were meant to be together. Lucky for me, he felt the same way and decided to stay in NY. Matt was born in Pittsburgh, PA but grew up in Florida. I don't really think he knew what he was getting into when he decided to go to school here, but he has certainly learned to love everything upstate NY has to offer. I think the only thing that could make Matt happier is if his family lived closer. Matt parents and younger brother and sister still live in Port St. Lucie, FL.

Matt and I were married November 5, 2005. It was an awesome wedding, but I'll save that for another blog. He works as an athletic trainer for the four high schools of the Syracuse City School District. As an athletic trainer, he is the guy who assesses injuries if someone gets hurt on one of the sports team. It works out good for me that he does this for a living, because I have a lot of aches and pains, and he can take care of them or tell me it's nothing (which is usually the case).

Some of Matt's favorite things to do are: bowling (I'm pretty sure he thinks he's going to join the PBA someday), golf (I think PGA is on his list of things to do also), and video games (is there a VGA?). He loves Metalica, and classic rock, and he even learned to like country for me. He loves sports... Matt is a huge Steelers Football Fan.

Well I could go on and on about my Matt. He's a great guy and a wonderful husband. I am SOOO LUCKY to have him in my life! LOVE YOU!
